Given that you rarely, if ever, know an opponents exact hole cards, and since nowadays people talk about putting an opponent on a hand range rather than putting them on a specific hand, here's my version of the FTOP (with apologies to Mr Sklansky):
"Every time you play a hand differently from the way you would have played it if you could be certain of your opponents' hand range, they gain; and every time you play your hand the same way you would have played it if you could be certain of their hand range, they lose.
Conversely, every time opponents play their hands differently from the way they would have if they could be certain of your hand range, you gain; and every time they play their hands the same way they would have played if they could be certain of your hand range, you lose."
